Solar Inverters and Information Security
If OT equipment such as solar inverters need to be logged, and the logging mechanism needs internet access so that the data can be checked remotely, it's good to ensure that logging appliance is segmented from the rest of the corporate network.
Better yet if the logging appliance has its own internet connection instead of riding on the corporate network's DIA (Direct Internet Access - a dedicated, high-performance internet connection).
It also helps to check regularly if any of the involved OT (Operational Technology) equipment or appliances have the ability to connect to the internal corporate network.
Better safe than sorry.
